On today's show, we announced a new contest called, "Who Wants to Be a Pastry Point Thousandaire?" Through this contest YOU (that's right, YOU) could win up to 1,000 Pastry Points redeemable for sweet prizes, including, potentially, your very own Grunty the Murloc in-game World of Warcraft pet.
"How does it work?"Thousandaire will be an eight week process, involving an eight person tournament bracket of Mind Over Batter on otherwise normal Donut Shop shows for the first seven weeks, followed by a "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?" style special on September 11, 2010, in which the winner of the tournament will be the first to compete, and the runner-up may get a chance, as well, pending time restrictions.
Qualifying RoundsTwo contestants compete with each other and The Donut Boys in a series of ten questions. Pastry Points are earned normally, just as with any other Mind Over Batter, and whomever answers more questions than the other contestant advances to the next round.

Who Wants to Be a Pastry Point Thousandaire? The winner of the final round will play first. Time permitting, the runner-up will also get a chance to play. Twenty questions on ANY subject will be prepared for each finalist. The first 15 will be multiple choice questions prepared by The Donut Boys. The contestant must answer each of the first 15 questions correctly in order to advance, but will not be competing against anyone else. Three lifelines will be available to use once during the first 15 questions.
50/50 - Two incorrect answers will be removed from the choices for the current question
Phone a Friend - We call someone for you, explain the situation, then give you one minute to ask them the current question and their opinion on what the correct answer is
Ask the Audience - We ask the audience their opinion of what the correct answer is for the current question and tell you the results
If a contestant decides a question is too difficult, they may choose not to answer and walk away with the amount of Pastry Points they have won so far. This cannot be done after the 14th question has been answered. If a contestant answers a question incorrectly, they will lose any Pastry Points they have earned since the last fall-back point. The first 15 questions and the amount of Pastry Points rewarded for making it that far into the game are listed below. Fall-back points are in bold.

The last five questions will be prepared and presented by KriekenZero, The Donut Shop's faithful PA. If the contestant makes it this far, he MUST continue or revert back to the fall-back of 50PP. All three Donut Boys will compete against the contestant in a fairly standard Mind Over Batter format, with the following reward value changes. For each of the last five questions the contestant answers correctly, 100PP is added to the total prize. For each of the last five questions a Donut Boy answers correctly, 100PP is subtracted from the total. For each of the last five questions that no one answers correctly, there will be no change to the total.
If the contestant advances to the final five questions AND answers all five correctly before The Donut Boys do, they will earn 1,000PP in the span of one two hour show.
